Scholarship Prep Orange County students, staff, and supporters gathered recently to celebrate a remarkable milestone: the grand opening of the new Tk-2nd grade Robert Potter Memorial Library at our Grand Avenue, Santa Ana campus. This pivotal moment was made possible through the generosity of the Todos Santos Foundation.

The library will serve as a haven for young minds eager to explore the world through literature. The Todos Santos Foundation, with its mission to uplift communities through education and enrichment, has been a welcome community partnership for Scholarship Prep. This year, our Scholars and families have benefitted from the foundation’s math tutoring program offered on campus and donations of clothing items. Its commitment to promoting a love for learning and providing students with the necessary support to thrive aligns perfectly with our school's desire to create positive change within our community!

Principal Chantel Van Pool underscored the opportunities awaiting our students in saying, "This library isn't just a collection of books; it's a portal to a lifetime of learning and triumph in English Language Arts for every Scholar who steps inside."

The Todos Santos Foundation’s unwavering commitment to educational excellence echoed through the words of its founder, James Russ. “Education is the cornerstone of every thriving community. At Todos Santos Foundation, we believe in the power of literacy to unlock boundless potential and create pathways to success. By partnering with Scholarship Prep Public Charter Schools, we are not only investing in the future of individual students but in the collective prosperity of our society.”

As the ribbon fell away, those gathered erupted in cheers, filling the air with a sense of possibility. With each step into the newly christened library, students embarked on a journey of discovery, guided by the timeless wisdom and boundless imagination found within the pages of books. It was a moment of celebration, unity, and profound gratitude—a testament to the transformative power of community and the enduring legacy of generosity.

Reflecting on the library’s namesake Robert Potter, Mr. Russ affirmed, “Following a successful career as an aircraft engineer and real estate entrepreneur, Robert Potter dedicated a portion of his legacy to aiding historically underserved children through education. As the steward of his legacy, I am dedicated to advancing his mission by developing programs that empower children with lifelong skills for self-reliance and success.”

Additionally, we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated Scholarship Prep staff members for their tireless efforts in preparing and labeling books, designing the space, and assembling furniture to ensure that our students have an inviting and comfortable environment in which to enjoy their reading experiences. Through their hard work and dedication, our library has become a welcoming sanctuary for our scholars to explore the world of literature.
